Ugandan Airlines set to fly to Mumbai-India
Uganda Airlines, the flag carrier of Uganda, is scheduled to launch direct flights from Entebbe to Mumbai, India on 7th October 2023.
There will be three flights per week departing from Entebbe – Mumbai, departing at 2025 East African Time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Currently, the national carrier has a long-haul flight to Dubai and a landing slot at London Heathrow.
The airline flies to Kenya, Somalia, DRC, Burundi, South Sudan, Tanzania, and South Africa within the continent.
At the pre-launch breakfast, the Executive Director of Uganda Airlines, Jennifer Bamuturaki described the milestone as “a great stride for Uganda.”
A direct flight between Entebbe and Mumbai will boost tourism, trade, and cultural relations between Uganda and India. It should be noted that Mumbai (formerly Bombay) is the largest financial and commercial city in India, in addition to being the 6th most populous metropolitan area in the world with over 23 million people.
